12:00 PM - 1:00 PM    Fitness - Yoga - Gentle Yoga for Adults - Wednesdays
Gentle Mindfulness Yoga Let Dawn guide you through gentle yoga moves that are perfect for all levels. Learn breathing and relaxation techniques to take off the mat and out into the real world. Enjoy some stretching and leave class feeling calm and rejuvenated! Dawn will then lead you through a gentle, slow flow yoga planned carefully to help the body and mind release tension. Modifications are offered during all classes so that new students as well as seasoned yogis or yoginis can benefit from this nurturing practice.Breathing techniques designed to alleviate stress both on and off the mat (in the real world, where let's face it most stress happens) will be taught and practiced.Classes will incorporate the principles of mediation and mindfulness. The goal of this class is that you feel relaxed, rejuvenated and centered when you leave class. 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM    Irish Dance - Wednesdays (Champs Drills and Choreography Class)
Irish Step Dance classes are taught by sister duo, Catie and Hali from Thorne Academy of Irish Dance.All level class:This class is open to all students of all skill level. Focus on mastering Jigs, reels and traditional set dances. This class is focused on fun and fancy footwork! Information will be provided regarding Class costumes and shoes.Champs class:Level: Pre-Open Level-Bun Grad Heavy focus on Hard shoe and advanced choreography.This class is for competitive dancers that are preparing for the 2021 Provincial Championships.Requirements: Class size is limited to 12 dancers so we can safely follow social distancing protocol. Class will be held inside the building. Face masks are required when we are inside. Dancers must dress in comfortable clothes, bring a water bottle, and dancing shoes.Information about purchasing formal Irish Dancing Gillies (shoes) and traditional school costumes will be given to new students.Parents must drop off students for class at the cafeteria entrance of the JPCC.Instructors: Catie Friel and Hali Thorne

Certified trauma-informed yoga and meditation instruction for military veterans, first responders, their families, and other PTSD survivors in the Western Connecticut area. Veteran-run. All ages and physical abilities encouraged.Chair yoga: Yoga that is a practice for people who want to gain both strength and mobility while seated to assist them achieve their goals.   Gentle yoga: For those that are able to get up and down from their mat unassisted. The class is for all levels but will be a basic course for all to build  a great practice of balance, strength and flexibility ."We put warriors at ease and teach strength through compassion and resilience. With 200+ hours of training in traditional yoga form, trauma-informed yoga, chair yoga, and basic meditation, we seek to provide a compassionate practice in a safe environment that understands the unique needs of those who have been impacted by their service and seek a restorative routine that builds a calmer mind and a supportive community free of judgement for past experiences.No chanting, no religion, no hands-on adjustments, no competition, no BS!
